We work through three strategies: bringing students to the Lab, bringing the Lab to students, and keeping the Lab with students.

Bring students to the Lab

Sankofa STEM Fellowship Active

Our flagship program, modeled on MDIBL's summer research fellowship. The 2025 semi-pilot brought 12 fellows at Kinbu Secondary Technical School in Accra through three weeks of hands-on science, from microscopy and DNA extraction to a final research project of their own.

The 2026 fellowship (August 3 to 14) hosts 20 students from KNUST SHS and Ejisuman SHS at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research for two weeks of biomedical research: bacteriology, parasitology, and entomology, mentored by KCCR scientists, free to every participant.
