Bring students to the Lab
Sankofa STEM Fellowship Active
Our flagship program: an immersive research fellowship where senior high students do real science alongside working scientists, at no cost to them or their families.
The 2025 pilot
Twelve fellows at Kinbu Secondary Technical School in Accra spent three weeks on microscopy, DNA extraction, statistics, scientific illustration, and career workshops, then designed and presented six research projects of their own.
The 2026 fellowship
Twenty fellows from KNUST Senior High School and Ejisuman Senior High School are at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research (KCCR) from August 3 to 14, doing hands-on biomedical research in bacteriology, parasitology, and entomology, mentored by KCCR scientists, and presenting at a closing research symposium.

Bring the Lab to students
Outreaches In planning
Not every student can come to a fellowship, so we go to them: school outreaches across Ghana that bring practical, curiosity-first science sessions directly into classrooms.
Keep the Lab with students
Sankofa Media Launching soon
Learning shouldn't end when a program does. Sankofa Media keeps the Lab with students through a YouTube channel, a podcast, and a blog made for curious pre-tertiary students.
